The annual Paradise Kids 'Christmas In July' Gala Fundraiser attracted generous Gold Coasters on Friday, raising $75,000 for the charity which provides grief counselling and support for kids who have lost a parent, sibling or are going through a terminal illness.

Organisers are hoping to top-up the much-needed funds by putting their star attraction, a framed winch handle from the famous "Ella's Pink Lady" signed by solo-sailing star Jessica Watson, on online auction site ebay.

A similar piece was sold for $6,000 at the gala dinner.

1029 Hot Tomato's breakfast co-host Sean "Flan" Flanagan said he's hoping people dig deep to bid for the piece of history.

"It's a great thing to own and it's for an amazing local cause," he said.
