Failed Com Games bidders not going quietly

THE FURORE over the failed bids for the 2018 Commonwealth Games ceremonies has again reared its ugly head.

The Gold Coast Games Corporation (GOLDOC) controversially awarded the opening and closing ceremonies to US company Jack Morton Worldwide just before Christmas.

The three losing companies have now backed calls for Queensland’s auditor-general to investigate the matter.

They believe an independent investigation is needed to remove serious doubts over the tender process.

Earlier this month, an audit tabled in parliament cleared GOLDOC of doing anything wrong or of having any conflict of interest in awarding the contract to JMW.
