A grandfather has been fined after police allegedly found his two baby grandchildren wrapped up and stuffed in the boot of his car during a vehicle stop in Western Australia.
Police say the Nissan X-trail was heading towards Morawa on the Perenjori-Three Springs Road in the state’s Mid West when it was stopped near the Boundary Road turn-off around 11pm on Friday.
Two girls aged under 18 months were allegedly found wrapped up in blankets next to shopping bags in the boot.

Four adults, believed to be the children’s parents and grandparents, were seated safely inside the vehicle.
The grandfather was fined $600 and stripped of eight points from his license.
