A 14-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged horrific assault of a couple in Evans Head on New Year, which was later uploaded to social media.
The alleged attack happened just before 2.00am on Wednesday 1 January.
Police say a a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were walking west along Oak Street when a group of people ran towards them.

Five people allegedly punched and kicked the pair while they were on the ground.
The couple suffered a range of injuries to their body, nose, arms and legs and required medical treatment.
Following ongoing investigations into the assault, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy at Casino Police Station yesterday and charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, affray and common assault.
He was released on strict conditional bail and is due to appear before the Casino Children’s Court on the 25th February 2020.
Another teenager has already been charged over the assault, with police saying investigations are continuing.
