900 marijuana plants seized in early morning raids

POLICE have destroyed 900 marijuana plants found growing at two homes north of the Gold Coast.

Officers from the state’s Drug and Serious Crime Group raided two home at Logan – one on Farrier Court in New Beith and the other in Greenbank – early on Thursday morning.

While searching the Farrier Court property, officers allegedly found approximately 500 cannabis plants being grown under hydroponic lights.

Police said a further 400 plants were found growing in a similar setup at the Greenbank address.

Officers remain at both homes as investigations into the discoveries continue.

No arrests had been made or charges laid at the time of writing.
