A popular ceiling lamp sold at IKEA stores around the country has been recalled over fears it could fall from the roof and smash.
The furniture giant said they’ve received a number of reports of the CALYPSO lamp “breaking and falling”, posing a risk of injury to a person from the broken glass.
IKEA is urging anyone who purchased a Calypso ceiling lamp after August 1, 2016 to check the manufacturing date stamp on the lamp.

“If this shows that their CALYPSO is one of the affected date stamps (1625 to 1744), they should contact IKEA to organise a replacement or refund,” IKEA says.
“No receipt or proof of purchase is required.”
To find the date stamp, carefully pull out the moveable arm and remove the glass shade.
