ALERT: Popular Aldi kettle recalled over scalding fears

A popular kettle sold at Aldi stores around the country has been recalled.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said in a statement earlier this week that the handle on the Stirling 1.7L electric kettle may become loose and separate from the body of the appliance.

If this occurs, there’s a risk the user may be burned.

The affected kettles come in a variety of colours and have ALDI PLU Numbers 58848, 60039, 60040, 60041, 56361, 56362, 56363, 58091, 58092 and 58093.

The PLU number is located on the underside of the base unit of the kettle.

People are being urged to stop using the kettle immediately and to return it to any ALDI store for a full refund.
