WOOLWORTHS is urgently recalling two of its popular cleaning products because of faulty child resistant caps.
Essentials Domestic Cleaner Regular and Essentials Domestic Cleaner Fresh have both been pulled from shelves over fears the poisonous substance may leak.
“If the product leaks it may pose a health risk to customers and possible damage to property,” the company said in a statement.

The recalled products have a use-by date up to and including June 2019.
They were available for sale in Woolworths and Metro stores nationally from April 2016 to 18 July 2018.
The supermarket giant said customers should wear gloves and immediately dispose of the contents by flushing the detergent down the sink with plenty of running water and wipe any affected areas with a damp white cloth.
“Customers need to rinse the bottle and cap with water and present the rinsed out bottle and/or a purchase receipt to any Woolworths supermarket or Metro store for a full refund.”
“Woolworths takes product safety seriously and apologises for any inconvenience caused by this recall. Customers can call the toll-free customer service number for more information on 1800 103 515.”
