Alleged child sex predator arrested in country NSW

A MAN charged with a number of historical child sex offences in country NSW has been refused bail.

Strike Force Duncansby was formed to investigate three alleged assaults at Tamworth, in the state’s northwest and, following investigations, arrested the 56-year-old man at a local shopping centre on Thursday.

He was taken to the Tamworth Police Station where he was charged overnight with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and aggravated indecent assault of a child under the age of 16.

The 56-year-old was refused bail prior to appearance in Tamworth Local Court on Friday morning.

There, he was formally refused bail to reappear on Monday, November 27.
