Amy Shark to perform at radio’s night of nights

It’s the industry that helped kick-start their careers and keeps them on the airwaves, but this weekend it will be the singers playing their music in real life for the radio industry.

Conrad Sewell, Amy Shark, Vera Blue and Cyrus will headline the entertainment at the 30th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) in Melbourne on Saturday night.

The artists will perform in front of 1,000 guests, including Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson (Kyle and Jackie O), Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller (Jonesy and Amanda), Grant Denyer, Ray Hadley and Steve Price.

Satirical comedy stars Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen from The Chaser are hosting the event, which recognises the top performers in the radio industry.

Gold Coast-based Shark is one of the hottest Aussie acts of the past two years, producing hits including AdoreI Said Hi and Weekend.

While fellow Queenslander, Sewell is currently riding a wave of success from his new album Ghosts & Hearthaches.

Since graduating from University in 2003, Rachel has worked in radio in a variety of roles including announcer, journalist and copywriter. The crazy world of radio has taken her from her hometown of Toowoomba to Wollongong, Sydney, Brisbane and finally the Gold Coast when in 2009 she started writing and presenting news with Hot Tomato and myGC.com.au.
