The doctor, serving time over Michael Jackson's death, wants to be let out of prison pending his appeal.

Dr Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years behind bars last year, after a jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

His lawyers have filed a motion requesting he be released either on his own recognizance or on bail with electronic monitoring, reports Access Hollywood.

Dr Murray claims he is not a danger to society and that he would try to find employment to contribute to the support of his seven children.

His lawyers believe his sentence, along with the fact he's kept in solitary confinement, is extremely severe for a man with no prior criminal history.
