Gold Coasters and businesses will come together to support 20-year-old Jessica Dunne again tonight for a charity ball.
Jess' life changed dramatically when she was struck down with Meningococcal disease in September last year.
A special fundraising event will be held at Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern to continue raising enough money for Jess to return home after spending more than a year in Robina Hospital.
So far more than $120,000 has been raised to make renovations to the family’s home, rehabilitation procedures and vital medical equipment.
Jessica has limited movement, can’t eat or speak and communicates with her eyes with yes/no cards.
Jessica's mother was given the morning off yesterday to go shopping to find a new frock for the special fundraising event.
Robina Town Centre generously donated $300 worth of vouchers to spend on a new dress and shoes for Karen for the event, while myGC fashion blogger and personal stylist Michelle Farrar-Eagles gave up a couple of hours to help find the perfect outfit.
The evening starts at 7pm Friday 20th November, 2009 at the Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern on Seaworld Drive at Main Beach. Tickets are $70 and includes finger food and prizes to be won.
Anyone wishing to attend the event or help in the fundraising efforts can contact Janine Kallinikos on 0417 797 399 or visit the charity website Dreamworkers.
