Kiwi's are encouraged to cross 'The Ditch' and holiday in Queensland as part of a new marketing campaign launched yesterday.

Tourism Queensland and Jetstar are running the $400,000 campaign.

Minister for Tourism and Fair Trading Peter Lawlor said the campaign tagline was 'Find yourself the best holiday in the world' and is an open invitation for visiting Kiwi's.

"Kiwis already love our Queensland climate, beaches, activities and experiences and are our largest international market."

Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes said it is the most aggressive international marketing campaign that has been created for Queensland.

"[It's] about offering Kiwi travellers an affordable experience that is fun, exciting and unique," he said.

"Given the challenging year the tourism industry has just experienced, targeting our close neighbours such as New Zealand is becoming increasingly important."

Almost a million Kiwi's will see the campaign over four weeks.

Jetstar has 16 flights a week running from New Zealand to Queensland bringing approximately 2,800 potential visitors per week.

Tourism Queensland has found massive growth potential in Kiwi visitors.

There will be flight deals linked to the campaign which will focus on southern Queensland.

"Jetstar is the perfect campaign partner," said Mr Lawlor.

"More than 400,000 Kiwis visited Queensland in the year ending September 2009 and spent approximately $537 million on trips to the state," said Mr Hayes.

The TV, radio, print, online and outdoor campaign will run until 8 March.
