The controversial Tipplers Resort on South Stradbroke Island is still in limbo but Mayor Ron Clarke said five local businesses have ideas for the resort.
No definite plans have been made after the Gold Coast Council's decision to release the resort back to the public.
The Council bought the property last year for $10 million and after a furtive response has now welcomed development of the area.
“Local business operators and community groups have put forward their thoughts and ideas and their input will assist us in realising the precinct’s true potential,” Cr Clarke said.
According to the Mayor, a report detailing the individual submissions would be presented to council before the end of month.
Cr Clarke said a commerical café, accommocation, restaurant and community facilities are some of the proposed ideas for the disputed Tipplers.
As of yet, nothing is confirmed and plans are said to be a work in progress.
Disgruntled locals, boaties and business owners alike continue to fight to make their voices heard over the purchase of the popular resort.
