The national and Queensland Leaders of the Australia Party have enjoyed an informal brekky with regional candidates in Toowoomba this morning.

Bob Katter and Beaudesert MP Aidan McLindon have spent some time at the Coffee Club.

The pair chatting to candidates from Toowoomba North and South as well as the Condamine.

Also today Kevin Rudd will be in the Brisbane seat of Ashgrove, hoping to improve Kate Jones' chances of staying in charge of the electorate.

It marks the Foreign Minister's first appearance as part of the unofficial campaign.

Ms Jones will face some stiff competition from former Brisbane Mayor and LNP party member Campbell Newman, who must win the seat if he's to have a chance of challenging Premier Anna Bligh.

Mr Newman and rival Ms Bligh will both be in Charleville today after the flood threat eased.  A handful of businesses and homes have been damaged by this week's deluge.
