Community groups across the Gold Coast can now lodge funding applications for the 2012-2013 Community Grants Program.

Not-for-profit organisations that service the needs and priorities of the Gold Coast community are eligible to apply.

Grants are are offered in following categories:

Nature Conservation and biodiversity
Culture, history and heritage, including community and Seniors Week events
Safe city
Community capacity building
Active and healthy

A new element of this year’s program is the inclusion of Seniors Week grants in the culture, history and heritage category.
 
Chair of Community and Cultural Development Councillor Bob la Castra said the Community Grants Program helps to foster community support and participation by assisting local not for profit organisations

The Gold Coast City Council Community Grants program opens on the 6th February, and will close at 4.30pm on the 9th of March.
