A man is expected to be charged over a car chase which began just north of the Coast and finished south of the Queensland/New South Wales border.

Police allege that the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle travelled a distance of around 100 kilometres starting in Logan City early at 1.30am this morning.

Officers backed out of the chase on the M1 at Pimpama, after the driver swerved into their vehicle.

They eventually caught up with the car in Coffs Harbour. Three people were arrested, with two of them under the age of 18.
