A teenager from New South Wales is being questioned by police over the assault of a Gold Coast bus driver. But no charges have been laid at this stage.
Police allege a male passenger who got on board in Southport on Wednesday night, started an argument with the driver before chasing him off the bus and assaulting him in Burleigh Heads.
The driver was punched in the face during the ordeal.
This is the latest in a series of attacks reported since January.
The Transport Workers Union has been pushing for some time to get harsher penalties for people who target bus drivers, while extra security was trialled for a while.
