Gold Coasters will once again be able to spot the famous Pink Poodle Motel sign when driving through Surfers.

The heritage-listed neon landmark was taken down last year to allow for light rail works, but will be reinstalled today.

It will be put up in a new spot on Fern Street due to road widening and underground services on the Gold Coast Highway.

The sign was named a Queensland Heritage Icon by the National Trust in 2005 and in 2010 it, and other remnants of the original Pink Poodle motel on the site, were successfully entered on the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register.
