Gold Coast United Captain Michael Thwaite has broken his A-League goal-scoring duck.
He found the back of the net in the final minutes of Wednesday night's match against Melbourne Victory to level the score 1-1 and give the local side a much needed point.
Thwaite's goal comes after 74 appearances for the Gold Coast and 90 in the A-League and was part of an inspired performance from United's talisman.
Socceroo star Harry Kewell scored for Victory, but it could be too late for the eighth-placed side to make a dash for the finals.
United's still stuck on the bottom of the ladder, five points back from Adelaide United.
