Motorists hospitalised after cars collide on Gold Coast’s M1

UPDATE @ 10.00 AM | TWO people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the M1 this morning.

The accident happened southbound at Arundel, between Exit 62 Helensvale South and Exit 66 Smith Street, around 8.40am.

Two people were assessed by Queensland Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The crash caused major delays in the area at the time, however they have since eased.

EARLIER @ 9.15 AM | Motorists are being warned they may experience some delays on the Pacific Motorway this morning following a multi-vehicle crash.

The accident happened southbound between Exit 62 Helensvale South and Exit 66 Smith Street around 8.40am.

Two people are currently being assessed by Queensland Ambulance paramedics and are in a stable condition.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads says at least one lane has been blocked, with traffic heavy in the area.

Motorists are being urged to allow for extra travel time.
