Australian actor Craig McLachlan charged with sex offences

AWARD-winning Australian actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with assault and sex offences.

The 53-year-old has been charged with one count of common law assault, eight counts of indecent assault and one count of attempted indecent assault.

The Gold Logie winning actor was charged on summons by detectives from Melbourne’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 8.

The charges come a year after it was revealed several of McLachlan co-stars from the 2014 production of the Rocky Horror show had accused him of indecent and inappropriate behaviour.

The actor denied all allegations at the time, claiming they were “perhaps made for financial reasons”.

McLachlan won the Gold Logie in 1990 and became a household name are first appearing in the TV show Neighbours before going on to star in Home & Away.
