Notorious armed robber and prison escapee Brenden Abbott has reportedly been granted parole.
Abbott, known as the ‘postcard bandit’, was jailed for 25 years in the 1990s for a string of armed bank robberies across Queensland and two prison breaks.
The 53-year-old had made multiple pleas for release since becoming eligible for parole in 2011, however was knocked back every time.

Channel 7 reports the notorious criminal was today successful in his bid for parole, having served 17 years behind bars.
