Baby dies after being found ‘unresponsive’ in Qld home

Investigations are underway into the death of a baby in far north Queensland.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a home at White Rock around 9am on Monday following reports a one-year-old boy was unresponsive.

The infant was worked on at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Cairns Base Hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased upon arrival.

It’s understood a number of people are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

The cause of the boy’s death is so far “undetermined” and police are awaiting the results of an autopsy which will assist in preparing a report for the Coroner.
