Areas around the Coomera River have suffered devastating impacts from yesterday’s floods.
Banks of the river have been set back several metres, with land falling into the raging waters yesterday.
A local MP has been out and about this morning, checking out some of the damage.

Theodore MP Mark Boothman reported that banks of the Coomera River near the John Muntz Bridge had lost as much as 8 metres of land.
There are concerns the damage could continue if the riverbank isn’t ‘armoured’.
Yesterday, waters had surged almost to the level of the John Muntz Bridge.
At its worst, an emergency warning was issued to residents around the Coomera River, which had begun flooding in parts.
