Barefoot child found wandering Sydney street

A young boy has been reunited with his mother, around eight hours after being found by Police, wearing pyjamas and no shoes, wandering a dark street all alone.

In a release issued on Saturday morning, Police explained the child suffers from a “medical condition” and was unable to identify himself or tell them his home address.

He was discovered about 12.40am on Saturday “wandering alone in Wicks Lane” in the suburb of Kogarah.

“Police from St George Police Area Command attended and commenced a search of the area with the child but have been unable to locate his parents or carers,” the earlier statement explained.

Police initially thought he was aged between nine and 11, but have since confirmed he is 14-years-old.

About an hour after the release of a photo of the boy, Police confirmed his mother had been located.
