Bernard Tomic has unleashed a scathing verbal attack on Aussie tennis great Lleyton Hewitt.
The 26-year-old had just gone down to Marin Cilic 6-2 6-4 7-6 at the Australian Open on Monday night, when he unleashed on Hewitt, who is the Australian Davis Cup captain.
“It’s all Lleyton. I’m going to say it honestly. No one likes him any more,” Tomic said at a press conference following the match.

“He is doing the wrong thing, he is playing Davis Cup – I thought he was retired, he is playing all these matches and stuff like that.
“I did a bit of work with him a couple of years ago. He used to hate Tennis Australia, it’s weird and now he loves them. What’s happened here?”
Tomic continued by claiming that Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios also don’t want to play for Australia under Hewitt’s leadership.
“Kokkinakis, Kyrgios, we don’t want to play any more because he has ruined the system. Go away. Literally, if he is retired why is he still in tennis? Why do you play these doubles tournaments?” he said.
“He doesn’t put the players first from what I hear, in the last year he doesn’t put the players first, he doesn’t put Nick first, doesn’t put Kokkinakis first, he thinks of himself and it is not good he is not playing any more – you are retired I thought.”
Hewitt and Tennis Australia are yet to comment on the accusations.
