Boy on bike hit by car turning corner

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Bundaberg.

The boy was riding his pushbike along Lovejoy Street when he was struck by a car about 6.30pm last night.

Police said the vehicle struck the young teen while turning into Lovejoy Street from Sims Road.


The boy was taken to Bundaberg Hospital before being transferred to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

He remains there today, in a serious but stable condition, police said.

The 43-year-old woman who was driving the car was not injured although was left shaking in shock after hitting the boy.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
