Brazen thief on the run after stealing jewellery from GC home while residents were inside

POLICE are appealing for help from the public to locate a significant amount of expensive jewellery that was stolen from a home on at Ashmore last month.

The burglary is understood to have happened some time between 8.30pm and 8.45pm at a home on Hillview Parade on Wednesday February 21.

Detectives said the owners were actually at home at the time of the theft, but were in another part of the house.

I’m just putting it out there – you can pickup a reasonably good quality home security system for about $700 these days, to view video remotely and record it… For not much more, you can protect said security system against power loss and tampering.

Mine was around the $700 mark and although it’s only a mid-range system, I’m pretty happy with it… My system is also wireless (i.e. it runs over Wi-Fi), so it’s great for renters.

Now that I have my entire house covered (i.e. no “blind spots”), I wonder why I didn’t do this years ago!
