A HUNTING dog that mauled a pet Staffordshire Bull Terrier to death and critically injured another during a terrifying attack on the Gold Coast has been put down.
Sandra Webster’s two Staffies, five-year-old Joey and three-year-old Diesel, were attacked by two neighbouring hunting dogs after they escaped from their Bonogin yard on Wednesday morning.
Joey was seriously injured and died at the scene. Diesel was critically injured and remains in intensive care.

The male Bull Arab and female Ridgeback who had recently given birth to 11 pups busted through their gate to get to the smaller dogs.
Sandra was devastated when she returned home to find her babies had been attacked.
“We don’t have any children, so they were our kids,” a distraught Sandra said. “Hunting dogs should not be allowed in neighbourhoods.”
The male Bull Arab was put down on Wednesday afternoon and Council officers are investigating the incident.
