Burn-off likely to result in smoke around northern GC suburbs

Northern Gold Coast residents are being warned not to be alarmed if they see or smell smoke today with crews expected to conduct a hazard reduction burn in the area.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services say the planned burn is scheduled to be conducted within the eastern section of Timberview Drive Reserve, near Pinnacle Drive at Wongawallan.

The burn will begin on Tuesday and continue until Friday, weather permitting.

Residents are being urged to close their windows and doors, with smoke expected to affect the area.

Residents suffering from respiratory conditions should also keep their medications close by.
