Can you help? Gold Coast charity in urgent need of warehouse

A local not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting families affected by domestic and family violence are in desperate need of a warehouse on the Gold Coast.

Rize Up help anywhere from five families and up per week, but they’re currently in the midst of a logisitcs problem and need our help to continue their generous work.

Gold Coast Councillor William Owen-Jones put the shoutout on social media on Friday morning, appealing for locals to Rize Up and lend a hand.

“Do you know a real estate agent, friend or squillionaire who might like to help?” Cr Owen-Jones wrote.

“To meet the demand of families starting fresh, leaving Domestic Violence behind, they [Rize Up] urgently need a warehouse with office space/boardroom for team training, admin, a centralised space to coordinate out of, and for the team to make up all the packs for refuges.”

Cr Owen-Jones said a 1-3 year lease would be ideal for the organisation, with the preferred location anywhere from Southport to Yatala, west to Gaven.

He said the space would be on the “basis of a donation”, however the rental loss could possibly be included as a tax deduction.

The deal would also include a sponsorship package, with branding on Rize Up’s 4-tonne truck.
