Kids hurt as family car tumbles off winding road in Gold Coast hinterland

UPDATE: TWO children have received cuts to their face and arms after the family crashed down an embankment in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Two adults and two children were inside the car at the time it left Gold Coast Springbroook Road at Neranwood just after 4.30pm.

The car came to a crashing halt down a steep embankment.

An ambulance spokesperson told myGC a male adult was complaining of back pain while two children were being treated for minor lacerations to their face and arms.

All emergency services remain on scene with the patients set to be transported to hospital by ambulance shortly. 

EARLIER: EMERGENCY services are responding to reports that a car has crashed off a winding road in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The accident happened along Gold Coast Springbrook Rd at Neranwood just after 4.30pm.

Early reports suggest the vehicle has left the road and tumbled down a steep drop. 

It remains unclear how many occupants are involved or if any have sustained serious injury.
