Trailer crash causes commuter chaos on M1

UPDATE: A FOUR-wheel-drive towing a trailer has reportedly jack-knifed on the M1 at Nerang this afternoon.

The vehicle came to grief with up to two other cars in the northbound lanes around 3.30pm, creating further chaos for commuters.

There are reports the vehicle was towing a Greyhound trailer. At the same time, a “big brown dog” was reportedly seen injured and stumbling along the highway near Smith Street exit.

There are conflicting reports suggesting the injured dog may have been involved in the crash at Nerang.

Delays are being experienced and motorists are urged to make use of local service roads or delay their journey if possible.

It comes after a fiery five-car crash on the M1 at Oxenford this morning sent eight people to hospital.
