THE GOLD Coast is set to become a safer place with the city’s CCTV network to be expanded.
Twenty additional cameras are set to be installed around the glitter strip, bringing the total number of CCTV cameras on the Gold Coast to over 200.
Local Government Minister David Crisafulli joined Member for Mermaid Beach and Mayor Tom Tate today to see the latest camera installed at Nobby Beach.

“This CCTV system shows that anti-social behavior won’t be tolerated in a state that prides itself on its safe communities and first-class lifestyle,” he said.
Mayor Tom Tate said the Gold Coast now has one of the largest monitored camera systems in Australia.
“All levels of government are determined to tackle anti-social behaviour,” he said.
“We work with other organisations including the Queensland police Service to create safe and vibrant public spaces.”
