Child hospitalised after being bitten by snake

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a snake at Newcastle.

It’s understood the boy was playing near the breakwall at Stockton when he was bitten.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the scene where its medical team assisted paramedics in treating the child.


The boy has since been rushed by ambulance to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

He is believed to have been transported in a stable condition.

It is not known what species of snake bit the boy.
