Children injured in Gold Coast crash

EIGHT people including a number of children have been assessed by paramedics following a nasty multi-vehicle crash outside a college on the Gold Coast.

It happened on the corner of Brisbane Road of Marble Arch Place, outside the A.B. Paterson College Early Childhood Centre in Arundel just before 3.30pm.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics assessed eight people at the scene, including a number of children.

Of the eight patients, three were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.

Their genders and ages are not known.

The incident has thrown the afternoon commute into disarray, with long delays being experienced for motorists heading west towards the M1 along Brisbane Road (also the Gold Coast Highway).

Traffic was backed up for at least three kilometres at the time of writing.
