Chinese Embassy acknowledges Palmer apology

THE Chinese Embassy has acknowledged Clive Palmer’s written apology for insulting Chinese people in a television interview.

The Gold Coast millionaire and Federal MP publicly released the letter he wrote to Australi’s Chinese Ambassador Ma Zhaoxu yesterday, stating his “sincere apology for insulting the Chinese people.”

It comes after he labelled the Chinese as “mongrel” who “shoot their own people” in a television interview on the ABC last week.

The issue was then compounded when his Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie called for a massive boost in defence spending to protect Australia from a “Chinese invasion”.

At first, Palmer isisted his comments were directed at a specific Chinese company.
