Clive Palmer’s wife loses election bid

CLIVE PALMER’S wife has been overlooked by her husband’s party in favour of a local businessman.

Anna Palmer nominated for preselection to contest the next Queensland election for the Palmer United Party in the seat of Gaven.

Independent MP Alex Douglas, who earlier split from the PUP, currently holds the seat.

Mr Palmer announced on Wednesday local businessman Adam Marcinkowski had been endorsed as the candidate.

Mr Marcinkowski said he was looking forward to focusing on local issues in Gaven.

Ted Shepherd (Mudgeeraba), Jim MacAnally (Burleigh), Jeremy Davey (Kawana) and Steve Anderson (Maryborough) have also been preselected as PUP candidates so far to contest the 2015 poll.
