UPDATE: GC trams back up and running after communication failure

UPDATE @ 4.15pm: Gold Coast trams are now up and running after coming to a halt this morning.

G:link says a “communication system failure” across the tram network was to blame for the disruption.

EARLIER @ 10.40am: Passengers are being warned to brace for lengthy delays with all Gold Coast trams suspended in both directions.

It is not known when services will resume, with customers warned to expect delays of at least an hour.

Translink has advised that replacement buses have been arranged.
