Construction worker dies after falling into trench in Perth

A construction worker has died after a shocking accident on a worksite in Perth.

It’s believed the man was working at a site in Mosman Park on Wednesday afternoon when he fell into a four-metre trench that was filled with water and dirt around 2:30pm.

Firefighters and a rescue team were immediately called to the scene, however the man could not be saved.

It took crews up to eight hours to retrieve his body, using specialised equipment.

Worksafe and the police have now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
