Convicted paedophile back in court, charged with grooming child for sex

A CONVICTED paedophile will reappear in court tomorrow, charged with breaching his sex offender registration obligations after allegedly grooming a child for sex in Melbourne.

Detectives from the Frankston Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team arrested the 63-year-old and seized electronic equipment during a raid on his home at Seaford on Wednesday.

He’s been charged with procuring and grooming a child under 16 for sexual activity, using a carriage service to transmit an indecent communication, and breaching his sex offender registration obligations.

The 63-year-old man was released on bail and is due to front Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team is comprised of investigators from Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police targeting online influenced child sexual exploitation offences.
