Taj Burrow and Nathan Hedge as well as locals Josh Kerr and Mitch Crews were all knocked out during the third round.
Currumbin’s Bede Durbidge survived a clash with C.J Hobgood. The pair tied but Durbidge had the higher wave score according to ASP.

Yet to come in Heat 10, American Kelly Slater will go head to head with Brazil’s Jadson Andre and in Heat 12 Tweed Heads surfer Mick Fanning will do battle with fellow Aussie Dion Atkinson.
