A 68-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after a minor two car crash escalated into a violent road rage attack on the M1 today where it’s alleged one driver was deliberately run down as the other unlicensed driver tried to escape.
It all alleged to have started when the 68-year-old man collided with another vehicle being driven by a 25-year-old man in the southbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway near the Smith Street Exit at Helensvale around 8.30am.

It’s understood the 68-year-old man refused to hand over his details after the prang and tried speeding away from the scene when the driver of the other vehicle was run down.
The 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury.
The 68-year-old man was treated for shock by paramedics and has since been slapped with a number of charges, including unlicensed driving and failing to fulfill his duties as a driver.
Investigations are continuing and more charges have not been ruled out.
