SEVERAL crews have rushed to the Gold Coast Hinterland after a large grass fire broke out overnight.
Firefighters got the call around 1.30am on Thursday that a blaze had sparked up in Bonogin.
It is burning near Emerson Drive, Finnagin Drive, Phoebe Rise and Palomar Street but the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said it isn’t posing a threat to residents.

“This fire broke out early this morning and is posing no threat to property at this time,” the QFES said.
“Firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze. Nearby residents may be affected by a smoke haze throughout the day.
“Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.”
If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
