7.30PM UPDATE: FIREFIGHTERS remain on scene of a large grass fire which continues to burn around homes at Upper Coomera.
The fire broke out under blustery conditions behind a skate park off Reserve Road around 3.30pm this afternoon.
Fanned by wind gusts in excess of 30km/h, flames quickly spread through the dry vegetation.

One urban and five rural crews are tonight still on scene, back burning around suburban streets.
Although contained, the fire is emitting large amounts of smoke and flames may be visible in some areas.
There is no threat to surrounding property.
Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed and keep medications close by for any respiratory conditions
The cause of the blaze remains unknown, although there are reports of children being in the area at the time.

EARLIER: FIRE crews are on scene of a small grass fire near an Upper Coomera skate park.
The call came in at around 3.30pm this afternoon, with reports of smoke coming from near a skate park along Reserve Road.
Crews have arrived and are investigating. The cause of the fire is unknown.
There is no immediate threat to surrounding property.
