It was a busy night for Gold Coast emergency services, with a shop fire and caravan fire breaking out within an hour of each other.
Firies and paramedics were first called to a shop fire in Pimpama around 10.00pm.
It’s understood to have broken out in the Pimpama Junction Shopping Centre.

Crews reported a lot of smoke coming out of the shops on arrival, with a small fire burning inside one of the shops.
They had it completely under control within 15 minutes.
Paramedics were called in, though reported that no one was injured.
A short time later, crews were called to a caravan fire in Labrador.
It’s understood the vehicle went up in flames next to a property on Turpin Road just before 11.00pm.
Firies reported the vehicle was well involved on arrival, before using the high pressure hose to get it under control within 20 minutes.
The front of the house was damaged by the heat of the flames, though luckily didn’t catch fire.
No injuries were reported there either.
