Crime scene set up after woman’s body found in Sydney river

A crime scene has been set up after a woman’s body was found in the Parramatta River.

It’s understood police made the grim discovery near the Queen’s Wharf Reserve about 2.15pm today.

Officers have since retrieved the woman’s body from the water.

At this stage, the woman has not been formally identified, however, she is believed to be aged in her 70s.

The cause of the death is yet to be determined, with police appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
