Cyclist injured in crash with kangaroo

A MAN has been taken to hospital after being knocked off his pushbike by a kangaroo in Queensland.

It happened as the man was riding along the Flinders Highway at Oak Valley on Saturday morning.

Paramedics were called to reports of a collision involving a bicycle and kangaroo at the location about 6am.

Queensland Ambulance said the male rider sustained a shoulder injury, while the kangaroo escaped unharmed.

The man was taken to Townsville Hospital in a stable condition.
