David Irvine wins 1029 Hot Tomato’s Gold Coast Nursing Award

A nurse who works tirelessly to care for Gold Coast patients with diabetes has won the 1029 Hot Tomato’s Gold Coast Nursing Award for December.

David Irvine has been a nurse for over 30 years, 21 years spent here on the Gold Coast. He currently works as a Diabetes Educator, assisting local diabetes patients of all ages, from children right through to adults.

“I live with diabetes myself, so I get a lot of pleasure from helping people manage the chronic condition,” David told myGC. “I love my job. It is so fulfilling and helping my patients is incredibly rewarding.”

Along with a certificate, Mr Irvine wins $250 and is now a finalist in the 2016 Annual Award where he could win a share in cash and prizes of over $5,000.

“I am so overwhelmed and shocked to win this award. I aspire to do the best I can every single day, so it’s nice to be acknowledged,” he said.
