A nurse who works tirelessly to care for Gold Coast patients with diabetes has won the 1029 Hot Tomato’s Gold Coast Nursing Award for December.
David Irvine has been a nurse for over 30 years, 21 years spent here on the Gold Coast. He currently works as a Diabetes Educator, assisting local diabetes patients of all ages, from children right through to adults.
“I live with diabetes myself, so I get a lot of pleasure from helping people manage the chronic condition,” David told myGC. “I love my job. It is so fulfilling and helping my patients is incredibly rewarding.”

“I am so overwhelmed and shocked to win this award. I aspire to do the best I can every single day, so it’s nice to be acknowledged,” he said.
